Brief HistoryWhen we hear the word "History", we usually associate the word with past events or a time element. However, Higher Praise Outreach Ministries, International has been in existence since 1995. We have grown tremendously in unity, love and spiritual awareness. We were a group of embryos waiting to be fully developed and prepared for spiritual rebirth. In 1995, one man, through pain and the tragic loss of loved ones, ministry and love for the people of God, Higher Praise Outreach Ministries was born.
Apostle Pete McKinnis answered the call of the Lord to shepherd the sheep of God. Apostle McKinnis had been instrumental in the spiritual and natural development of the members. Through God, broken relationships have been mended, and new relationships with God are being developed. Apostle believes wholeheartedly that you must depend totally on God for your source of strength and that God is out total provider. Higher Praise has gone through many phases since its mere existence. When God says, "Yes," it doesn't matter what the devil tries to do to stop your progress, the answer is "Yes."
We, the members of this House can truly say that the Lord has been with us every step of the way. It hasn't always been an easy task, but with the direction God has given and faithfully following our leader and his vision, "We Have Come This Far By Faith." Our journey has taken us to the home of Mother Carolyn Williams, through Potomac Gardens, Way of the Cross Church, Apostle McKinnis' home, Bladensburg, MD, back to Apostle McKinnis' home, to Wells of Water Evangelistic Church, 1107 Bladensburg Road and God has brought us to this Canaan. Since He has brought us to this point, I really don't believe He is going to leave us now. Without a shadow of a doubt, "this is the Lord's doing and it's marvelous in our eyes."
God has brought us into this millennium and allowed us to visit the 21st century; however, he is requiring us to do greater works. Daniel the prophet said, "But the people who do know their God shall do exploits." With this in mind, we will buckle down and do the work that the Lord has assigned our hands. We will spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the World. |
